Hutt Valley SeriesThis series shows scenes of the Hutt Valley, produced by the Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt i-Site Visitors Centres. 45c stamps
Appendix 1At least two different printings exist of stamps of the 10/06 imprint date. The most obvious difference between these two printings is the serial number on the booklet itself, which is complete on HUV B12d(1) but is half missing on HUV B12d(2). All stamps from these two printings show at least a minor difference in placement of the text and company logo, but in most cases this requires close study and copies of both whole booklets to compare the stamps against. The enlargements shown below show these differences as well as possible considering how small they are; unless otherwise stated, the only detectable differences are these very minor differences in placement. The two booklets I have to hand show differing intensities of black printing, resulting in the small lettering on stamps of Booklet HUV B12d(1) appearing thicker and blockier than those of Booklet HUV B12d(2). In all cases, stamps from HUV B12d(1) are shown at the left of the enlargment and stamps from HUV B12d(2) are shown at the right of the enlargement.
50c stamps
The serial numbers of the earliest series of 50c stamps show a printing date of October 2006. This is doubtful as the increase in the standard letter rate from 45c to 50c was not announced until some months afterwards. In most cases, the earliest printings of 50c stamps are dated March 2007, and it is unlikely that the 50c stamps dated October 2006 were printed any earlier than that date.
Undenominated stampsThese stamps, inscribed "Kiwi", are permanently valid for the basic internal postal rate within New Zealand. This rate was 50c when the stamps were first issued, rising to 60c on 1st October, 2010.
