John was born on February 21st, 1806 in Thetford, Norfolk, England and his baptism took place on May 26th, 1806.1   John's father was Digory JOLL and his mother was Martha MAW.  His paternal grandparents were Digory JOLL and Elizabeth KNIGHT; his maternal grandparents were Richard MAW and Mildred BANKS. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Samuel, Richard, Elizabeth, Matilda, Ann, Mildred and MarthaJohn and Samuel were identical twins.  He died at the age of 59 on February 15th, 1866 in Wainfleet, Lincolnshire, England.  The funeral took place on March 3rd, 1866 at All Saints (Wainfleet), Wainfleet, Lincolnshire, England.  He was buried on March 3rd, 1866 in Wainfleet, Lincolnshire, England.2 1 1
