John was born in 1718 and his christening took place on December 19th, 1718 in Egloskerry, Cornwall, England.1   John's father was John JOLL and his mother was Anne PHILPE.  His maternal grandparents were Philip PHILPE and Frances JOLL. He had six brothers and a sister, named Giles, Digory, Josiah, John, Samuel, William and Francis.  He was the third oldest of the eight children.  He died on December 20th, 1718 in Egloskerry, Cornwall, England.1
