Henry, known as Herbert, was born on March 17th, 1863. Herbert's father was William HAY and his mother was Elizabeth DAWSON. His maternal grandparents were George DAWSON and Elizabeth JOLL. He had six brothers and four sisters, named William, George, Frederick, Alfred, Walter, Septimus, Alice, Lizzie, Matilda and Mary. He was the fifth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 68 on February 9th, 1932.
